How to plan a Bridgerton-themed wedding: 5 top tips!

Dearest gentle reader, the arrival of Bridgerton series 3 on our screens is an enormous cause of excitement to the Ton, and the influence of the Regency romantic drama on weddings is sure to be back too.  A Bridgerton themed wedding incorporates Regency grandeur, elegant styling and decadence, but with a hint of modernity too.

There are lots of ways of adding a little Bridgerton style to your big day, from a Bridgerton-inspired venue, a contemporary classic playlist or even wearing a regency inspired wedding outfit. Here’s our top 5 tips for planning a Bridgerton-themed wedding!

1. Choose a grand venue for your wedding

The easiest place to start with planning your Bridgerton wedding is with the venue- a grand house such as those seen in the series. Rise Hall is absolutely the right scale for this, and being built in the Regency era is the right age too. You’ll be able to live out all your Bridgerton dreams in the grand rooms of Rise Hall!

Alternatively, you could choose one of Dine’s other venues- The Mansion is a Regency house in Roundhay Park in Leeds which would be the perfect backdrop, whilst Howsham Hall is a stunning Jacobean mansion near York which would be an incredible venue for a Bridgerton-style wedding.

2. Choose extravagant florals

One of the things that you’ll first notice in Bridgerton is the extravagant use of florals in every scene- particularly the ball scenes! The ones used on set are actually faux flowers (so they don’t wilt under the hot lights) and these are a great option in real life too. Faux flowers and trees have come a long way in recent years and are very convincing! You can ask your florist to mix real and faux to give a more natural effect

3. Choose contemporary classical music

One of the key differences between Bridgerton and other Regency romances in the music- listen closely and you can hear a mix of modern hits from stars such as Ariana Grande, Beyoncé and Billie Eilish. It’s a clever way to make an historical scene feel relevant to todays viewers.

There are quite a few classical ensembles that can recreate the music of Bridgerton for you- ask our Dine Event Managers for recommendations.

4. Choose a Bridgerton-style wedding dress

A Bridgerton-style wedding dress is likely to incorporate an empire line dress, possibly in the pale Wedgewood blue popularised by the show. This fabulous dress is by Eliza May and combines the style of Regency dresses with a very wearable fabric.

5. Theme the event

If you really want to go all-out on your Bridgerton theme, you can theme the event staff, decor and even the food to match! Dine have created a number of events of this period, from a grand Regency dinner for Channel 4 to a private Jane Austen style party. The choice is yours!
