MEET THE TEAM

Daniel Gill

Founder

Daniel began his training at Leith’s Events and Parties as an Event Manager. In 1995 he moved to Mustard Catering as PA to the Managing Director, catering for clients including FTSE 100 companies, Downing Street and the Queen. Daniel founded Dine in 1998 to provide a bespoke events and catering service.

Dan spends his time working with the team developing menus and ideas, as well as running events. Outside work, he can usually be found ‘researching’ new menus and wine or walking in the Yorkshire Dales.

Matt Jones

Managing Director

Matt has been a member of the Dine team in one guise or another since 2001. A graduate of Leeds University, Matt originally trained as a teacher before deciding to turn his part-time role at Dine into a career.

As well as overseeing team management across the Dine Group, Matt also runs a number of our high profile corporate, private events and marquee weddings. When not at work, Matt enjoys spending valuable time at home with his two children and the occasional snowboarding trip.

Mark Dawson

Executive Head Chef

A hugely experienced Event Chef, Mark started his career with the RAF before moving into hotels and joining Dine in 2009 ready for the launch of The Mansion. His logistical expertise allow us to deliver a high quality food service in some “challenging” environments as well as venues such as The Mansion.

Mark oversees our entire catering operation as well as working closely with our MD on menu development and food innovation. Outside of work, Mark can be found spending quality time with his children.

Rebecca Barker

Group Sales and Marketing

Rebecca joined Dine in 2021 with a wealth of wedding experience, having previously run a successful wedding venue with her family.  Responsible for sales & marketing across the Dine Group, she is loving the diversity of the events and venues at Dine.  With her extensive network of contacts, genuine passion for all things weddings, events & interiors, Rebecca is a huge asset to the team!

Outside of work, Rebecca has a young family and loves to escape with her husband for great dinner out whenever possible.

Jake Myers

Operations Manager

Jake joined the team in 2017 and runs the complicated Operations side of all our events, ensuring everything is where it needs to be when it needs to be there!   With a strong background in hotels & catering, he also enjoys working an odd event or two when he can for a change!

Outside of work Jake loves good restaurants too – and a great cheese board.

Helen Gill

Marketing

Helen began her hospitality career working in restaurants, including stints with Marco Pierre White and Tom Aitken. Nowadays she combines roles in the Marketing team with overseeing the renovation and refurbishment projects at Rise Hall.

When she can escape from work Helen enjoys travel, scuba diving and trying out new restaurants.

Jenny Atkinson

Head of Events

Looking after most of our events at Sefton Park Palm House, Jenny has worked for Dine for a few years (with a break for a couple of ski-seasons!).  She works across the group, but the tropical backdrop of the Palm House is one of her favourite venues.

In her spare time, you can usually find Jenny on her family farm or planning her next escape to the Alps!

Craig Squelch

Senior Events Manager

Craig trained at Blackpool College gaining an OND and HND in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management. After over 20 years in the hotel trade, from trainee manager to General Manager and working all over the country from Guernsey to Yorkshire, Craig has broken away from the hotel industry for a new challenge at Dine Events.

Joining the team in June 2010 as an Event Manager, Craig has a great eye for detail, a passion for events and is very much enjoying the variety that each week at Dine brings. Outside of work, you’re most likely to find Craig in one of Yorkshire’s finest restaurants, wine merchants or pottering in his garden!

Liam Cheeseman

Sales & Events Manager

With over 20 years of hospitality experience in the hotel, food, beverage and events industry, Liam is a hugely experienced member of the team. He’s won multiple service awards in his career, and joined the Dine Team in 2018. He loves the diversity of events at Dine compared to hotels, and his more laid back approach complements the rest of the team perfectly.

Liam spends much of his spare time in the gym or can often be found at the theatre!

Kim Banks

Senior Event Manager

Kim joined the team in early 2020, heading up the events team at Rise Hall.  With a background in restaurants & hotels, she was General Manager for 10 years before wanting a change and coming to Dine.  She enjoys the variety of events and when not at Rise can often be found helping out at Sefton Park Palm House.

Outside work Kim loves travelling, eating out and walking her dog.

Rebecca Scutt

Sales Executive

Becky joined Dine in 2022, having worked at a number of wedding venues and hotels across the region. She is usually the first point of contact for Howsham Hall, but can also pop up at Rise Hall and The Mansion from time to time! Her love of weddings is infectious and well known in the team- she even stepped in as a bridesmaid at a styled shoot when the model didn’t turn up!

Outside of work, Becky loves to spend time with friends & family, travelling and going to concerts.

Outside of work Chloe can be found doing Yoga, going on long walks, travelling and reading a good romance novel.

Samantha Curtis

Admin & Marketing Assistant (Extraordinaire)

Sam has worked part time at Dine since 2006 offering essential support for the Events Team and Office. Her role encompasses so many aspects, and everyone at Dine agrees we’d be lost without her!
